In order to reconstuct and maintain Jefferson County roads and bridges, it sometimes becomes necessary to close sections of roads.

Jefferson County makes every attempt to inform the general public, emergency services, schools, and postal services of any closures for extended periods of time through news media, this website or direct communication.

For short term closures during routine maintenance, it may not be possible to inform the public in advance.  In these cases, flagmen, signs and barricades will be utilized.  Jefferson County asks that the traveling public obey all flagmen, signage and barricades placed for this purpose.
