OVERVIEW
 
The Circuit Clerk (formally known as the Circuit Court Clerk) is elected to 4-year terms and is responsible for the following duties:
 
  • Attending court
  • Maintaining court files (ie, Traffic, Criminal, Divorce, Small Claims, Law, Probate, Adoption, Family, Juvenile, Orders of Protection, Chancery, Miscellaneous Remedy, DUI, Tax)
  • Collecting and disbursing fines and fees*
  • Summoning Grand and Petit Jurors
  • Securely storing submitted evidence from jury trials.
*The Circuit Clerk office collects fines and fees, therefore, to pay on Traffic or Criminal cases. Cash, money orders and cashier checks are accepted. NO PERSONAL CHECKS.
